HOUSTON, TEXAS Sept 26, 2006. Pharm-Olam International Ltd. (POI), a multi-national CRO to pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries, announces continued expansion of their data management and biostatistics services which includes the addition of new senior management positions.

Dr. Anthony Orlando, Ph.D. joins Pharm-Olam in the new position of Vice President, Global Data Division which oversees the company's data management and biostatistics services. Dr. Orlando brings an exceptional background in data management and biostatistics with over 30 years of experience which includes roles in pharmaceutical companies, the National Center for Toxicological Research/FDA, and contract research organizations. Dr. Orlando holds a Ph.D. in Biometry from Yale University, and has co-authored many papers in his area of expertise and has supported several drug NDAs for a variety of indications.

Pharm-Olam's data management system uses a secure, web-based platform that is 21 CFR 11 compliant. Pharm-Olam's provides sponsors with flexible options for EDC which includes direct data entry by the site and the option of remote data entry (RDE). RDE uses a hybrid model which combines paper CRFs and locally performed EDC that provides the sponsor with several advantages over traditional paper processes.
